o:no
makes music for rainy days and melancholic train rides – gentle, moody, and honest. Her songs feel intimate and deeplyemotional, exploring themes of letting go, of growing and becoming. Rather than striving for perfection, no:no seeks truth. At the heart of her music is the conscious experience of both big and small emotions, and the acceptance of everything that exists in the present moment. Sonically, she blends emotional songwriting with electronic and experimental elements, she herself calls „tiny little weird bits“. Key inspirations include artists such as Bon Iver, Half Waif, Saya Gray and Rosie Lowe.
Her self-produced debut EP, “body memories”, is aptly described by no:no as a “collection of feelings.” On it, her sound moves between alternative and indie pop, enriched with electronic elements as well as influences from soul and jazz, which shape her harmonies and melodies. Her latest release, “this is the last time I’ll write about you”, produced with Berlin-based Tobias Koett, marks the beginning of a newfound creative urge, currently taking shape in the writing of an album.
Performing solo, no:no accompanies herself on the piano, using vocoder and vocal effects to create an intimate, almost fragile sonic atmosphere.
When joined by her her live band (Mira Perusich – piano, Thorsten Kaiser – bass, Thomas Gieferl – bass, Thomas Gieferl – drums), no:no’s songs gain weight and momentum, opening up spaces to fully sink into the emotions carried by the lyrics. In both settings a fragile yet intense closeness emerges—an atmosphere that gently invites listeners to drift inward and meet themselves in the quiet moments between the sounds
